Our 2023 vehicle was Virginia Tech's second rendition of a four-wheel drive vehicle and our first vehicle to utilize custom designed bevel gears. Our main goal was to maintain reduce drive train losses and improve how power was delivered to the ground. The suspension also saw upgrades with increased suspension travel, and geometry that provided more cornering performance. Valkyire proved to have significant performance improvements as well as much lower weight than its predecessor. While reliability issues plagued its competition performance, it provided a strong base on which to improve.
